Producer, vocalist and DJ B4MBA‚s release is called NGELAW which means „wind“ in Wolof — the paternal language of the Senegalese-Hispanic artist. Part of a larger saga centered around the four elements, NGELAW was shaped by the concept of travel. Drawing from the animist essence of African spirituality which assumes the notion that we are all made of these elements, the artist plays with his voice as an instrument over a bass-heavy beat.
In the like-named track NGELAW, the artist tells us about the difficult realities of life. Drawing from the animist essence of African spirituality which assumes the notion that we are all made of these elements, the artist invites the listener to travel into unknown territories of neither here nor there.
It was a conscious decision for B4MBA to release on an African label. Not only to decentralize the West in the creative process but to further strengthen the North-South connection within the continent itself.
His release is expected on July 5th via the Moroccan label raghoul, adding to his discography of Industrial Dancehall, Jungle Breaks, and all sorts of bass. For this EP B4MBA linked up with the Moroccan 3D artist Misfit and Jokkoo Collective member Mookie to create the visual universe of this release.
