A couple of months ago, we released a 13-track album called Seth by Tainan-based DJ and producer Jordan aka . It’s an unusual and intensive mix of industrial club music, hip-hop, drone, ambient noise, and experimental music. Now, we are releasing a 3D-animated video clip for the track „Reinforcement“ by Jordan’s fellow artist o7i7. On this occasion, we wanted to know more about his creative process and his background. Please read more in our interview below.

Jordan’s electronic production carries a distinct energy rooted in Tainan’s underground sound. How did you interpret the track’s sound design, rhythms, and textures into the spatial world, lighting, and movement of the 3D video?

As part of Tainan’s underground network, these scenes always have some tension and chaotic art expression. I do these kinds of things: the visual surroundings are organic, and there’s a combination of flesh and machinery, so yeah, while I’m engineering these characters and visuals, I always feel like I’m a part of this movie. Obviously, I’m also a part of this energy, and I can mix it with my techniques and imagination.

What central concept, atmosphere, or narrative forms the backbone of this video? Did Taiwan’s local environments and architecture influence the aesthetics of this virtual space?

Titled „Reinforcement,“ this work centers on subverting a previous state through destruction and reorganization, ultimately achieving a vital reinforcement while visually portraying a post-devastation scene. Layered elements build emotional tension step by step, culminating in a powerful impact when his true form is finally revealed. At the 53-second mark, the destruction concludes, and the execution begins as he attacks the earth. The final moments shift to a human perspective, conveying awe and biological intimidation.

Ultimately, he kneads all earthly objects into a single mass of flesh—simultaneously serving as the protagonist’s initial form and a reference to the fierce dragon statues in Taiwanese temple culture. This marks the end of the military assault and proves his successful reinforcement.

What was the workflow like collaborating with Jordan to align the track’s mood?

Jordan put very big amounts of trust in me and gave me a lot of freedom to let my imagination drive these visuals. At the same time, this track and the album express the tension, beauty, and emotion very clearly, and it’s very hard to ignore. Because of this, we share a high level of mutual understanding and chemistry between us.

From asset creation and texturing to camera movements and lighting design, what were the most complex technical or creative challenges you faced while rendering this piece? Are there any subtle details or easter eggs in the 3D space viewers should look out for?

The main creature’s design and sculpting are very complex. When dealing with such organic forms, rigging and sculpting coordination is crucial. The creature has over five tentacles just at the tail end. Facing such complexity, technical challenges are inevitable.
In the visuals, I hope people can enjoy the chaos instead of always trying to understand it. I want everyone to simply experience the aesthetics.

Digital 3D art and avant-garde electronic music can be deeply connected. Where do you see your visual style fitting into this expanding landscape, and how has working on this Swine Records release shaped your direction as a digital artist?

>> Compared to Terashima’s (@terashima) work documenting the real world, I feel that O7i7 and this field function more like a biological research department, such as an SCP anomaly lab. These creatures and organisms will eventually have their own storylines and aesthetics. This release with Jordan and Swine Daily has further boosted the presence of my biological aesthetic between the real world and the internet.
