⋆ Experimental sounds from Latin America, deconstructed club or slutty techno? ⋆
The 10th edition of the club night Šelest will once again focus on genres emerging from South America and many more. Leading the tempo this time will be Tayhana, a central figure of the Club Latinx genre. Miss Carriage’s unhinged energy will open the night and post-club masters Vermilion and BoLs/sLoB are getting ready for the b2b set. We’ll meet in Planeta Za on the 12th of April.
Tayhana is Argentinian born, Mexico City based DJ, producer and founder of one of the most radical parties in South America that revalued the original music of the continent. Thanks to her aggressive way of playing, a fearless mixing of different rhythms, BPMs and experimental sounds, she managed to combine urban as well as traditional music of her homeland. Tayhana has attracted the attention of artists such as Rosalía, Daniela Lalita, Mare or Gaika. Her first album Tierra del Fuego moves between „cold wistfulness and heated seductiveness,“ according to Couvre x Chefs platform.
Vermilion brings a unique blend of her own unreleased tracks and mixes consisting of dystopian synths infused with elements from genres such as deconstructed club, trance, screamo, and witch house. Central to her sets are deformed female voices and screams, adding a layer of rage to the romanticized gothic aesthetic.
Miss Carriage’s sets tend to be a wild and unpredictable blend of mainstream & alternative sounds. You can expect guaracha, slutty techno, trance, and a generous dose of unhinged pop edits.
BoLs/sLoB’s work is inspired by the British post-club scene and modern avant-garde electronics as well as it is influenced by the sound of PC Music. Genre shifts, dynamic rhythm as energetic performances have found their way from his live performances to DJ sets and dancefloor.
