I’m really interested in the story behind the project, can you tell me how you came up with the concept of this EP?
This specific EP was a live recording of my first solo electronic project. „HOCUS“ is a „sibling“ project of a trio that I lead called „POCUS“. In both projects, I work with two main concepts: static movement and mental illnesses.
How was the creative process behind this project, was it all an improvisation?
Being that it was a live concert, it was about improvisation, but it had a few guidelines in terms of sound and mood. I think the main focus is on creating something that appears to be in motion, but never leaves its place, while also being able to create „mood swings“
What hardware and software did he use and what the EP means for him?
I use a Mackie mixer with a few effect pedals, using the no-input method. For me, this is the beginning of a new journey in sound exploration and free music.
Do you have some specific intention, which emotions did you want to transmit through the music etc?
I think the main intention is what I said earlier – I think the main focus is about creating something that appears to be in motion, but never leaves its place, while also being able to create „mood swings“.
