I really like MIRA新伝統. This is one of the most creative and unusual music duos out there. Every time they have a music release or a performance, it’s something new. They are the definition of the saying: art has no boundaries. I really admire the vast landscape MIRA creates with their music. It’s not just ambient or industrial experimental music. They are creating complex music worlds. When we released a premiere of their song „Symchthonia“ 2 years ago, they were based in Tokyo. Now they create from Greece, but with their performances, they have traveled the world.

Mythoplaxy is their new album, which is being released on the Mexican label, for Swine readers, surely a familiar name, Infinite Machine.
With twisted, morphing electronic music, their new album sounds like an ancient futuristic ritual. Like a secret cult from the year of 3000. Across stage and studio, the duo have cultivated a performative language that fuses Shinto-derived ritual with the communal, itinerant traditions of popular theatre and mythic storytelling – echoing forms from ancient satyr plays to medieval cycles – set against the spectral terrains of post-techno-capital collapse.

The album by MIRA comprises 11 sonic tales, ranging from electronic ballads to mythogenic fragments, conceived as the rudiments of a symbolic architecture. Each piece invites listeners to imagine the myths and ruins we might forge and choose to carry from this world into the next, echoing the propositions of Italian philosopher Federico Campagna.
They have also released a music video for a track called „The Fall of Metatron“. It envisions the descent of Metatron — the “scribe of God,” an archangel drawn from Gnostic and Judeo-Islamic traditions, often identified with Enoch himself. The video stages his fall as a rupture in myth: the archangel cast down into a hypostatic scripture, inscribed to shield poetry from the slop-driven extinction of culture in transitional times. This just captures brilliantly the art duo’s capacity to delve deep into mythology and create their own unique narratives.
